OZ: FROM PLANTING TO HARVEST
YAKIMA, Wash. — October 2026 — At FIRA USA 2026, Naïo is showcasing the next evolution of Oz, its autonomous agricultural robot for vegetable growers.
Known for its mechanical weeding capabilities, Oz is now expanding further into the crop cycle with a new plug-planting solution for vegetable transplants. The new implement significantly increases the range of crops that can be established with Oz and strengthens its role as a versatile autonomous assistant — from planting to harvest.
Successful weeding starts with successful planting

For Naïo, the new planter is not simply another tool. It reflects a key agronomic principle: successful weeding starts with successful crop establishment.
Precise planting, consistent spacing and well-defined rows are essential for effective mechanical weeding later in the season.
“If you want to weed precisely, you first need to establish the crop precisely,” said Matthias Carriere, General Manager of Naïo. “With Oz, we are connecting these two stages of the crop cycle. The robot can help establish the crop and then return to the same field to cultivate and weed it.”
With more than 35 compatible implements, Oz can now support a growing number of operations, including plug planting, seeding, cultivation, mechanical weeding, mowing and crop transport.
Its RTK navigation allows growers to create and reuse field maps, maintaining continuity between operations throughout the season.
The compact electric robot offers up to eight hours of operation and almost 1 acre a day.

From a weeding robot to a crop-cycle assistant
The evolution of Oz responds to a simple challenge faced by vegetable growers: many operations are repetitive, physically demanding and difficult to staff.
Rather than developing a dedicated robot for every task, Naïo is building a multi-purpose autonomous platform that can progressively take on different jobs according to the needs of each farm.
“Oz started with weeding, but farmers quickly showed us that they needed help with many other operations,” said Carriere. “Today, we are moving toward a robot that can be useful throughout the season — not just for one job.”
Naïo will demonstrate the latest capabilities of Oz at FIRA USA 2026 in Yakima, resulting from 15 years of experience in the integration of agricultural robots into farming systems.
From planting to harvest, Oz is becoming more than a weeding robot. It is becoming an autonomous crop-cycle assistant.
